Andrzej Bednarczyk's sculptural and graphic installation entitled 'Trap of Infinity', realised in 2017, is a form of visualisation of the philosophical issues bothering the artist related to the eternal order of nature and its relationship with man. It was made using casting and printing techniques. The artist also used polyurethane paste, paper, pigment and Venetian mirrors. In his own words, the artist described the concept of the work as follows: "The Infinity Trap is an installation in which artistic media influence each other, causing them to transgress. Sculpture ceases to be sculptural, printmaking becomes more than a flat composition on paper. What unites the two media into one is the idea of reflection - the sculpture is a 'quotation' from the human figure, multiplied in an infinite number of phantom images. Moreover, the sculptural object is only visible through panes of Venetian mirrors, which create 'corridors' of mutual reflections, and this leads us towards the motif of the labyrinth - an image of the confusing order of the world and culture. I abolish the direct view of reality in favour of its mediated and infinitely multiplied form. At the core of my reflection remains the irremovable contradiction between human limitation and frailty and the infinite perspective of eternity." Andrzej Bednarczyk practices transmedia art. He is the author of installations on the borderline of sculpture, graphics and multimedia.
