Illusions and Movement is a small exhibition of six works, located in a small room on the second floor, to the left of the lift exit. The themes of the exhibition revolve around two main themes related to optics and mechanics.
The creation of a fully three-dimensional real image, which is not a hologram but merely the effect of light reflected by parabolic mirrors, can be observed at the Mirage stand, located to the left of the entrance. The stroboscopic illusion of movement will be presented at the Zoetrop stand, next to Mirage. To the right of the entrance, visitors will see an installation of three mirrored panes joined at their edges to form an equilateral triangle. This stand, In an Infinite Mirror, offers the opportunity to observe the extraordinary illusion created by images reflected in infinity. It is worth looking inside and taking a photo of your face reflected in the infinite space of the mirror. The largest stand in the exhibition is called Inverted Perspective. It is a room arranged for photography in such a way that it is possible to create the illusion that one of its walls is the floor. The quality of the illusion depends both on the pose chosen by the 'actors' and on the framing of the image by the photographer. On the wall of the stand, there are inspirational images showing the different settings in which people pose for photographs.
The final two exhibits in the exhibition are Tunnel into the Unknown and Twisted. The former allows visitors not only to peer into the wall, but also to model the position of the tunnel using specially positioned mirrors. The second allows visitors to study the movement of various objects on a rotating disc, depending on their size, shape or weight.
