One of the artistically best works in this room is a portrait of Mikołaj Hübner from 1644 - a Torun resident who, after studying abroad, initially worked as a surveyor at the Radziwiłł princely court. He then carried out trading activities in Königsberg before returning to Toruń before 1618. Between 1618 and 1642 he was an Old Town alderman, and was promoted to the council in 1642. The author of this image is Bartholomew Strobel the Younger, a Breslau resident, court painter to King Władysław IV Vasa. Strobel was active mainly in Pomerania, Kuyavia and Greater Poland. In contemporary accounts he is referred to as Pictor Thorunensis.
