The former town wine cellar, the so-called Danzig Cellar, is located in the north-east corner of the town hall. In the 15th century, wine drinking also took place in other cellars, leased by the city to innkeepers. The cellars were accessible directly from the market square by a wide staircase and were named after the images above the entrance: Under the Lion, Under the Swans, Under the Roosters, Under the Dragon and Under the Crown. Wines were matured in the cellars under the courtyard, which are now partly buried.
