The exhibition presents 45 quatrefoils made in the 14th century and is only a small part of the production of the Toruń workshops, which were intended to furnish the churches of Toruń, Chełmno Land and Pomerania. They constitute a unique collection in Polish museology. It includes three sets of stained-glass windows from two Toruń monastery churches: the Dominican Fathers' Church of St. Nicholas, the Franciscan Fathers' Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the parish church in Chełmno of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In addition to their practical significance, the stained glass windows also had didactic and aesthetic functions. The scenes depicted most often illustrated the Holy Scriptures, apocrypha (writings that did not belong to the canon of the Holy Scriptures) and the lives of saints arranged in specific cycles.
