The ceremonial sword of the Court Bench in Bydgoszcz from 1672 is the work of an unknown armorer. According to tradition, for many years it was regarded as the sword of the Bydgoszcz executioner. Despite the form of the classic executioner's sword, it was never used as a tool for carrying out sentences. Treated as a symbol of judicial authority, it was kept in the Town Hall until the 19th century. The sword's head is enriched by varied decoration with allegorical figures and sentences, confirming the connection with the judicial function.
