The silver city goblet, the so-called Emperor's Cup, was presented to the city by the court supplier Fritz Corell on the occasion of the visit to Bydgoszcz in 1904 of Kaiser Wilhelm II, whose presence honoured the 200th anniversary celebrations of the 3rd Regiment of Novomarch Dragoons. The execution of the commission was entrusted to the well-known Bydgoszcz goldsmith and jeweller Richard Ménard, active since the 1870s and owning a workshop on Długa Street. The cup entered the Bydgoszcz historical collections in June 1919.
