From September 25th to 27th, Włocławek will become the earthenware capital of Poland for the sixth time. The 6th Włocławek Earthenware Festival awaits – three days of meetings, exhibitions, workshops, competitions, demonstrations, and events that will demonstrate that Włocławek's earthenware is not only an important part of the city's history but also a source of contemporary inspiration. This year's edition will also be unique thanks to a new event – the "Faience of the Sun" light festival, which will illuminate Włocławek's Old Market Square for three evenings.
The Earthenware Festival will traditionally combine the history and heritage of Włocławek with art, creativity, and modern forms of presentation. The heart of the festival events will be the "Browar B." Cultural Center – the beautiful, historic former brewery of the Bojańczyk family. Here, attendees will enjoy, among other things, Earthenware Stalls, a Earthenware Bistro, a Earthenware Relaxation Zone, as well as art and historical exhibitions. There will be competitions, workshops, concerts and various fun activities for children and adults.
The second event location will be the Old Market Square in Włocławek. For three festival evenings, this space will be transformed into an extraordinary stage of light, music, and fire. "Faience Sparkle" is a premiere event where the tradition of Włocławek faience meets modern visual technologies.
The next festival venue will be the Interactive Faience Center – Faience Treasury. This venue is well worth a visit, transporting visitors to the extraordinary, multimedia world of Włocławek ceramics, drawing on the 150-year tradition of faience production. Interactive educational and exhibition spaces, divided into age-appropriate paths, will help visitors discover new chapters in the history of these iconic ceramic works.
During the festival, the event's partners will also open their doors.
The Kujawy and Dobrzyń Museum will offer visitors two extraordinary exhibitions: the permanent exhibition "Włocławek Faience 1873–1991" and the temporary exhibition "Elżbieta Piwek-Białoborska (1922–1989). Ceramics – Form – Decoration."
The "Stary Świat" Gallery is a must-see for all fans of Włocławek faience. As part of the festival, visitors are invited to visit unique spaces where faience becomes an element of original interior design – the "Fajans Apartament" and the "Pan Kot" club-café. Visitors will also be treated to striking large-format faience plates painted on walls, demonstrating that traditional patterns can also be successfully incorporated into modern spaces.
