The paintings on display in the fifth room, show works of various styles occurring from the late 19th century to the 1930s. The culmination of the exhibition from the previous room is a display of works from early Expressionism, in which the source of art is man and his psyche. Konrad Krzyzanowski's work is represented by a painting entitled Portrait of a Russian Actress, which shows the artist's efforts to capture the expression and personality of the model. Ferdynand Ruszczyc's emotional attitude to nature can be seen in his painting From the banks of the Vileyka River.
