Unique in the Torun museum's collection are Julian Fałat's landscapes, of which The Hunting Tour is the most representative of the painter's work. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that the artist lived in Toruń from 1920 to 1921, where he founded an Artists' Confraternity and a music society, as well as a childcare association. His interest in the countryside, this time 'fabulously colourful', stemmed, among other things, from nationalist ideas. They were displayed by such painters as: Fryderyk Pautsch, Apoloniusz Kędzierski or Władysław Jarocki, whose Portrait of Szymek Dorula from Poronin is among the most representative of its kind.
