The Burgher Hall is the most representative room in the Town Hall and has witnessed many historical events. Although its appearance has changed somewhat over the centuries, it has retained its unique, traditional character to this day, thanks to the display of a collection of portraits from the 16th-18th centuries and the coats of arms of the bourgeoisie from the early 17th century who lived and worked in Toruń. However, it is the so-called 'grammar school' portrait of Nicolaus Copernicus, dating from the 16th century, that dominates the Burgher Hall, but we will tell you more about the astronomer's figure in the painting in question.
