Horse riding was the basis of training, which officers had to meet. Riding skills were honed on courses of squadron commanders. Some officers completed Horse Riding Instructor Courses. In 1922, two groups of future Olympians began training, in Grudziądz and Warsaw. From the participants of both groups, the first Polish representation for the Olympic Games in Paris in 1924 was combined. Meanwhile, the Cavalry Training Center (CWK) developed the so-called "Polish horse-riding school" based largely on the natural Italian system. Equestrian training was treated equally with combat and tactical, it constituted the whole training of a cavalryman, and it was managed by the Head of Equitation. In the years 1934-1935 it was a well-known Olympian Adam Królikiewicz.
