The green living room is also named after the colour of the walls. Among the furniture, the folding wall-mounted card table deserves special attention. Another interesting element is an armchair from the beginning of the 20th century, juxtaposed with a self-portrait of the artist sitting thoughtfully on the above-mentioned piece of furniture. The core of the exhibition are paintings from the Ukrainian period. From 1883 onwards Wyczółkowski visited Ukraine and Podolia very often, where he portrayed the local landscapes and peasants at hard work. In works such as, painted several times, Digging up Beets or A Barrow in the Ukraine, the artist used the influence of impressionism. At the time, paintings suffused with light were particularly close to his heart. The exhibition is complemented by a photograph of Jan Matejko and images of Wyczółkowski by Laszczka and Sichulski.
