Cast in tin alloy between the 11th and 13th centuries. It was discovered during archaeological excavations on the mound in Nakło nad Notecią. The monument is covered with a dark, almost black patina, only in the places of chipping a steel-grey colour appears. To the touch, it has a smooth, slippery surface. Its total height is just 4 cm. Christian attributes are found in both cemeteries and fortified settlements. The cross presented in the exhibition is an example of such a find. Cross-shaped pendants, worn around the neck, made of amber or lead, are known from excavations. The cross on display is distinguished by its pyramid-shaped base, which allowed it to be placed anywhere. We can also surmise that the process of its production for hanging around the neck has not yet been completed.
