In medieval times, agriculture, including the breeding and cultivation of crops, mainly cereals, was a fundamental part of the food economy. However, hunting, gathering and especially fishing were also important. The development of the latter accelerated with the development of Christianity and the introduction of fasts at various times. In addition to individual fishing, specialised groups of fishermen were formed. Fishing settlements were established on the Brda and Vistula rivers. In the collection of the Leon Wyczółkowski Museum there are also objects from this period. On display you will see: hooks for catching fish, weights for weighing down nets, a bark float, a tool for weaving nets, a dugout boat. A fishing net, from the ethnographic collection, and a reconstruction of wicker fish trap complete the exhibition.
