The axe was made around the second half of the 5th millennium BC. It is 7.5 cm long and 5 cm wide. The hatchet presented at the exhibition was handmade from flint. Its shape resembles an elongated trapezoid. The surface of the tool looks like interspersed patches of brown and grey. The longer base of the trapezoid was sharpened. Wear marks visible on the blade indicate that it was used for work. Its small size may have allowed for small jobs, such as cutting branches. Although this is not an exceptional find, the context of the discovery is interesting. It was made by a resident of Bydgoszcz on Tarasy Street. This pleasant surprise happened during a walk with her dog in a place surrounded by greenery in the Szwederowo housing estate.
